La Loche Gas Stations Temporarily Out Of Fuel

The northern Saskatchewan community of La Loche has run out of gas.

A worker at the reserve’s gas bar says they sold their last bit of fuel sometime after 10:00 this morning.

Two other outlets in the community ran out yesterday.

The worker says he’s heard a shipment might be coming in tomorrow, but nothing is set in stone.

La Loche mayor Georgina Jolibois says she has talked to local emergency crews about the situation and been assured a backup plan is in place.

A refinery problem in Alberta has led to the shortage.
