The Saskatchwan Liquor and Gaming Authority is still deciding whether to make a beer bottle ban in La Loche a permanent thing.

A 2-year pilot project banning the sale of beer in glass bottles in La Loche recently came to an end.

Authority spokesman David Morris says businesses that sell liquor in the community haven’t seen a drop in sales.

He also says the local RCMP detachment is seeing less violent crimes involving broken beer bottles

Morris says Liquor and Gaming will complete its review of the impact of the bottle ban sometime during the summer.

In the meantime, the bottle ban in La Loche will remain in place.
