Kytwayhat To Recieve Sask. Order Of Merit

A First Nations woman in Saskatoon is receiving Saskatchewan’s top honour.

Lieutenant Governor Gordon Barnhart announced the Saskatchewan Order of Merit recipients today.

Elder Alma Kytwayhat is among the 12 recipients of the award.

Kytwayhat is from the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, and became a senator with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations in 2007.

The ceremonies are to take place Nov. 5 in Saskatoon and Nov. 17 in Regina.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit.
