A musician from the Muskoday First Nation has received a prestigious honour.
Chester Knight won the best music video award at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco over the weekend.
A surprised Knight didn’t even realize he’d won the honour until he received a phone call yesterday at his house in Saskatoon.
Now a seasoned performer on the North American music scene, the folk and country singer credits his upbringing on the Muskoday reserve for helping him launch his career.
Knight hopes the award will enable him to gain more exposure in the tough American market.
He says he’s already hard at work on his next album.
