Judge To Hear Recount Application Tomorrow

A Court of Queen’s Bench justice in Prince Albert will preside over an application tomorrow for a judicial recount in the northern Saskatchewan riding of Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill.

A lawyer for Conservative candidate Jeremy Harrison will argue for the recount.

Harrison lost to the Liberal’s Gary Merasty by 73 votes.

Harrison says he believes irregularities took place at polling stations in the riding on election night.

Merasty has publicly stated he will voluntarily support the recount if it’s ordered by the judge.

The request is set to be heard Friday at 1:00 pm.
