Jolibois Announces Bid For Re-election

The mayor of La Loche is seeking a third term in office.

Georgina Jolibois recently announced her intentions to run in the municipal election this October.

The current chair of the northern municipal lobby group New North is proud of her record so far.

Among other things, she points to the recent establishment of an exploration agreement with Oilsands Quest as reasons to be excited about the future.

She calls the deal “historic”, because La Loche became the first municipality in the province to sign such a deal.

Jolibois says getting more corporate training and establishing a bank and a landfill are just a few of the projects she’s working on.

She says she also hasn’t forgotten about the various social issues facing the village’s young population.
