The chief and councillors of the Island Lake First Nation in northwest Saskatchewan are being denied access to the band’s headquarters.
Over a dozen band members cordoned off the band office at about 6:30 this morning.
They are also refusing access to other band members.
The protesters are demanding to get a good look at the band’s finances and want the band’s leaders to open the books.
There’s no word yet on how the chief and council will respond.
