An inquest has been ordered into the case of an Aboriginal woman who died while in the custody of Prince Albert police officers.

On August 3rd, 48-year-old Linda Sahpassum was being transported to the city’s police cells when she suffered head injuries — allegedly after falling down while exiting a police cruiser.

A police news release states Sahpassum was arrested earlier that night for public intoxication.
