Inquest Into Inmates Death Only A Matter Of Time

The province’s chief coroner says his office is required to examine the death of any inmate who dies unnaturally while in custody.
That means an inquest into the death of 27 year-old Fabian Petit is likely only a matter of time.
Two weeks ago, staff at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre, discovered his body in a minimum-security unit.
A spokesman says the incident appeared to be a suicide.
Chief coroner Kent Stewart says that is grounds for an inquest.
Meanwhile an investigation into the death is still on-going.
It is expected to wrap in a week’s time.
