Indian Affairs may be able to come up with some short-term money to help striking Red Pheasant bus drivers.

But Trevor Sutter says if more short term money is provided, it would be at the expense of other Indian Affairs programming or services.

About eight Red Pheasant bus drivers announced today they’re on strike because they say they haven’t received a pay raise for years.

Sutter was asked if Indian Affairs has decided to provide that short-term help.

He adds that the long term solution would be to apply to Ottawa for money across the country.
