INAC In Talks To Restart Funding To MNS

A spokeswoman for Indian Affairs says talks are on-going between her department and the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan about restoration of funding.

Several months ago, the Federal Government suspended payments to the MNS due to concerns raised by the 2004 election scandal.

INAC’s Margot Guguld says those concerns have now been addressed by the recent vote.

Guguld adds no timetable has been set for the funding to resume but talks continue.
