Ile-a-la-Crosse Youth Implicated In House Fire

RCMP are investigating a suspicious house fire in the northern community of Ile-a-la-Crosse.

At about 10:15 last night, local RCMP were notified about a house being engulfed in flames.

The Ile-a-la-Crosse Fire Brigade was called and extinguished the fire — but, the two-storey home was totally destroyed.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.

A 14-year-old boy from the community was arrested at the scene and will be making his first court appearance in Ile-a-la-Crosse on May 15th.

He has been charged with one count of arson.
