An Ile-a-la-Crosse man has pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

42-year-old Joey Noel Kenny has been sentenced to two years less a day — which means he avoids having to serve it in a penitentiary.

He also avoided trial, and received credit for the 6-and-a-half weeks he spent in remand.

Kenny was arrested by Ile-a-la-Crosse RCMP on December 5th on an unrelated matter.

The Mounties discovered 86 flaps of cocaine while Kenny was being searched.
