Ile-a-la-Crosse Hosts Trial For Standoff Suspect

A northern man accused of attempted murder and armed robbery appears before a judge today in Ile-a-la-Crosse.

44-year-old Michel Frank Bouvier has been in custody for the past few months, ever since he was allegedly involved in an armed standoff with police.

Authorities contend it was Bouvier and a woman who were holed up in a house the evening of April 8th when the incident occurred.

Things ended peacefully, but Bouvier was charged a short time later.

His trial was scheduled to begin this morning.
