Ile-a-la-Crosse Girl Co-Winner Of Poster Contest

An elementary school student from Ile-a-la-Crosse has been named one of the four grand prize winners in this year’s SaskPower “Energy and Our Environment” poster contest.

Kaleigh Aramenko’s poster was selected from 759 submissions by students at 51 schools across the province.

SaskPower spokesman Larry Christie says the annual contest is held to encourage teachers and students to look at ways to save the environment.

Christie says Aramenko will receive a new bike and helmet for her winning poster.

As well, Rossignol Elementary School in Ile-a-la-Crosse will receive educational materials on climate change for the library, plus a cheque for $250 for the purchase of trees to be planted on the school grounds.
