Hunter Dies From Gunshot Wound At Little Red

A man is dead after what appears to be a hunting accident on the Little Red River reserve near Prince Albert over the weekend.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brad Kaeding says officers were called to the First Nation late Friday night.

They were summoned by paramedics, who arrived earlier to find 31-year old Cody Pelletier deceased in a field outside of the community.

Kaeding says the investigation surrounding Pelletier’s death is ongoing, and the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit has been called in.

Kaeding says Pelletier was hunting at the time of his death, but the exact cause of death will not be known until an autopsy has been completed.
