Investigators believe they’ve found the remains of a missing woman at the site of a house fire on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.

The 38-year-old woman had been missing since Saturday evening’s blaze.

The RCMP say witnesses say they last saw the woman run into the burning home to get her shoes.

Human remains were found in the wreckage yesterday.

RCMP spokesman Sgt. Brad Kaeding says the house was completely destroyed and became sufficiently cool to conduct a search just yesterday.

An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the victim’s identity.

The Mounties do not suspect foul play.
