Historic Landmark in Fond du Lac Goes Up In Smoke

RCMP in Fond du Lac are investigating a fire that destroyed a historic landmark in that community last week.

The blaze took place Wednesday afternoon and consumed a house that was built in the 1800s on the original Fond du Lac reserve.

The Mounties say the local fire department was not able to save the structure because the house was situated in an out-of-the-way location.

Anyone with any information on how the fire may have started is asked to call the Fond du Lac RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
