The world’s largest uranium producer has convinced a former deputy prime minister to sit on its board of directors.

Saskatoon-based Cameco Corporation says Anne McLellan’s appointment takes effect today.

McLellan held several cabinet positions during her time in office, which came to an end last January when she was defeated in her Edmonton riding.

Cameco’s board has 14 members, including former Lac La Ronge Indian Band chief Harry Cook.
