Saskatchewan Party leader Elwin Hermanson is visiting Northern Saskatchewan today.

Hermanson toured a wild rice operation in La Ronge this morning, and then over the lunch hour, took part in an informal community luncheon at the La Ronge Motor Hotel.

He is also scheduled to make a stop in Buffalo Narrows for a similar community function later today.

Hermanson is the first of the 3 major political party leaders to appear in the North since the election campaign began.

A spokesperson for NDP leader Lorne Calvert says Calvert will be making his first campaign stop in the North on October 30th when he visits La Ronge.

A spokesman for Liberal Leader David Karwacki doesn’t know if Karwacki will visit the North during the campaign, but says it remains a possibility.
