Harrison’s Margin Of Victory Even Wider

It appears the Saskatchewan Party has managed to hang onto three seats it narrowly won on election night.

In Meadow Lake, Jeremy Harrison picked up 20 additional votes after absentee votes were counted there last night.

Harrison now leads the NDP’s Maynard Sonntag by 37 votes.

According to Elections Saskatchewan, 29 ballots were rejected while another 16 were objected to — which opens the door for Sonntag to seek a judicial recount.

Sonntag told The Canadian Press he doesn’t know if he will pursue the matter further. He has until Friday to make a decision.

Harrison doesn’t think a recount of the ballots will change the result.

Harrison adds he is humbled by the win, and knew it was going to be a close race.

He also notes tight votes seem to follow him wherever he goes.

Saskatchewan Party candidates in Moose Jaw and Prince Albert also widened their leads in their respective races.
