Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River MP Jeremy Harrison is teaming up with Conservative Aboriginal Affairs Critic Jim Prentice to meet and respond to a letter sent out to all four federal parties on Metis-specific initiatives.

Harrison says a meeting with Metis National Council President Clem Chartier will take place on January 11th in Ottawa.

Harrison says the Conservatives are planning to discuss their stance on issues concerning Metis war veterans, the Supreme Court’s Powley decision on Metis harvesting rights, initiatives decided upon at the First Ministers Meeting on Aboriginal Issues and the Liberal exclusion of Metis residential school survivors in Ile-a-la-Crosse from a recently-announced compensation agreement.
