Harrison Defends Funding Of Northern Tour

The verbal sparring between northern Saskatchewan Member of Parliament Gary Merasty and the man he replaced is intensifying.

Jeremy Harrison says Merasty’s suggestion that Harrison used taxpayers’ dollars to fund a campaign-style tour of the North last month is both false and potentially libelous.

Harrison says every single dollar for that trip came from his own pocket, and wonders if Merasty can say the same thing for the trips he makes to the northern riding from his home in Saskatoon.

Harrison is also openly questioning who paid for Merasty’s trip to Toronto this week to announce his endorsement of Liberal leadership hopeful Michael Ignatieff.
