Northern Saskatchewan’s Member of Parliament is hoping the Garson Lake Road Project becomes an election issue in the ongoing provincial election campaign in Alberta.

Jeremy Harrison says the latest study on a proposed link between La Loche and Fort McMurray highlights significant benefits to Alberta, not just Saskatchewan.

Harrison points out that while Alberta Premier Ralph Klein has made public statements in support of the project, he stopped short of making a concrete funding announcement.

Harrison feels the election campaign in Alberta is a perfect opportunity to get some specific commitments about the project.

Harrison is challenging all provincial party leaders in Alberta, as well as the candidates running in northeastern Alberta, to make their position on the road project clear.
