The University of Saskatchewan has appointed a new Special Advisor on Aboriginal Initiatives.
Joan Greyeyes is now in charge of identifying and developing university-wide initiatives, programs and services — on and off campus — specific to Aboriginal students.
Greyeyes is very familiar with the school, having obtained a Bachelor of Education degree, a post-graduate diploma in Educational Administration and a Master of Education, all from the U. of S.
She has also served as the Director of the Aboriginal Student Centre at the university.
As well, she has been employed as a consultant on education, health and governance with the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.
Greyeyes also once served as the Director of Education with the Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta.
