An official with Saskatchewan Environment says fish caught in Hanson Lake are perfectly safe to eat.
Concerns were raised earlier this summer that fish may have been contaminated by a nearby mine site.
However, the department’s director of land quality says tests have revealed the amount of lead and arsenic in the fish is well below Canadian and international limits.
Rob Kidd adds the fish tested were caught near the Hanson Lake Recreation Site — which was closed to the public this past May over soil contamination.
