Gordon Residential School Gathering Postponed

The Gordon First Nation has cancelled a residential school gathering that was supposed to happen this week on its reserve.

The death of an elder’s daughter has halted activity on the First Nation, leaving organizers with little choice but to postpone the event.

A band clerk says the new dates for the gathering are August 17th, 18th and 19th.

She says all the guest speakers originally booked for this week’s gathering have pledged to appear at the alternate date.
