What if you scheduled a meeting with First Nations chiefs and none of them showed up?

That’s what happened to federal Liberal House Leader Ralph Goodale in the Battlefords yesterday.

He came to find out the concerns of the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs — but they were all out at various other events.

So Goodale met with Neil Sasakamoose, the BATC’s Community Development Corporation manager.

According to Goodale, major issues that were brought up include oil and gas revenues and the duty to consult.

Another meeting is expected in a week or two when the chiefs can be there.
