The Saskatchewan First Nations Veterans’ Association hosted their first annual golf tournament today.

More than 30 teams teed off at the first annual First Nations Veterans’ Association Golf Tournament in Prince Albert today.

FSIN Vice-chief Glenn Pratt played in the tournament.

He says it’s important to raise money for the veterans’ association.

“We’re trying to make sure they have funds in place to be able to do some of their own things, for themselves. We have to commend them to raising some of their own self-help and revenue dollars. Of course they’re very appreciative of the teams,” Pratt says.

Organizers say they hope to raise $15,000 to $20,000 for the veterans’ association.
