One of the country’s top financial experts is scheduled to be involved in a special chiefs meeting of the Assembly of First Nations in Ottawa today.

TD Bank chief economist Don Drummond will take part in a roundtable discussion this afternoon on the global financial crisis and its implications on First Nations.

The AFN has been calling on the government to develop an economic stimulus package for First Nations.

The chiefs will also hear an update today on the AFN’s human rights complaint against Ottawa over child welfare.
