Get A Job Or Get Free Schooling: U Of R Promise

A new program at the University of Regina is guaranteeing student success.

The UR Guarantee program guarantees students who complete the program’s requirements a job within six months after graduation.

The program is also open to students who are enrolled in federated colleges, including the First Nations University of Canada.

Vianne Timmons, president of the University of Regina, says the program is unique amongst Canadian universities.

“The University of Regina is the first university in Canada to guarantee the successful launch of a student’s career within six months of graduation, and we’re calling this the UR Guarantee,” Timmons says.

She adds that students who complete the program and can’t find a job within six months of graduating, can go back to school — free of charge.

The university will cover the costs of tuition for a full year of classes for those students.
