Workers at the Gabriel Dumont Institute have signed a new contract with management.

The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union says the agreement includes a 12 per cent wage hike over three years, as well as improvements to sick leave.

It also provides for a one per cent increase in pension contributions, a $1,000 signing bonus and an extension of benefits to workers who were previously not fully covered.

GDI executive director Jordie McCaffrey says he is pleased the deal is finally done.

He says the new contract should help the school recruit and retain the labour it needs.
