Gathering In La Ronge Examines Food Security

The Northern Food Security Conference is getting underway in La Ronge today.

The event explores northern traditions, the challenges of northern food security and ways that northerners can eat better food.

Today, delegates are getting the chance to hear presentations on how to establish a community kitchen and how to ensure food security in a pandemic.

Public health nutritionist Cathryn Abrametz says it is important to support local food producers, and that will be one issue that will be looked at over the next couple of days.

The conference will close tomorrow with a roundtable discussion.
