Future Of Sled Dog Race In Jeopardy

The annual Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Race between Prince Albert and La Ronge could soon be a thing of the past if new sponsors aren’t found soon, according to a member of the organizing team.
Dave Young says the recent withdrawal of a major sponsor has left race officials scrambling to find new investors.
Young says he is looking for as many donations as possible to make sure the 2006 and 2007 sled dog races continue as planned. However, he wants to make clear that this year’s race will still proceed, no matter what.
Young adds he has confidence the needed money will be found, but the clock is ticking on the race’s long-term future.
This year’s edition of the race is set to start February 14th in Prince Albert.
