Aboriginal entrepreneurs are being encouraged to put their thinking caps on.

The province is looking for ideas on how to stimulate growing sectors of the economy with the help of First Nations and Metis people.

First Nations and Metis Relations minister Maynard Sonntag says up to $500,000 is available to groups or people who have an idea deemed worth exploring.

However, he cautions they will have to put up most of the money themselves.

Sonntag says proposals will be carefully screened by both government and outside Metis and First Nations organizations.

A total of $5 million is up for grabs over the next four years.
