For the second consecutive year, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations has posted a surplus.

The surplus for the 2008-2009 fiscal year is $388,000.

Two years ago, the federation was $1.6 million in debt.

Now, that debt sits at just over $1 million.

In a release, the FSIN says it expects Indian Affairs will now release the organization from its remedial management plan.
