The chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations says bands should ignore both the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples and Native Women’s Association of Canada.

Lawrence Joseph says neither group has received any type of mandate from First Nations themselves, and it’s not clear who they’re accountable to.

He says the NWAC is also undermining women’s groups at both the Prince Albert Grand Council and FSIN level.

Joseph says CAP recently went on a membership drive in Saskatchewan that attracted little interest.
