An FSIN official hopes to find more places for First Nations beaders to sell their items than just at trade shows.

Vice-Chief Morley Watson says he wants to hold a large exhibition of First Nations merchants this fall before Christmas, so they can make contacts in the business community and find places to sell their wares.

Watson says First Nations people have helped the economies of other communities, and shouldn’t be embarrassed to ask merchants to make room for their goods.

He says there needs to be stores that will promote First Nations jewellery, clothing, and other artwork, so that vendors aren’t just selling them at powwows and tradeshows.
