FSIN Officially Rescinds Ahenakew Reinstatement

The FSIN has passed a resolution that rescinds a previous resolution calling for the reinstatement of David Ahenakew as a senator.
The new resolution says the original one was not properly vetted by internal FSIN processes.
Two months ago, chiefs met in a meeting to discuss finances and ended up voting on the reinstatement.
Ahenakew turned it down, but not before it created a firestorm of controversy with some chiefs speaking out against it and the Senate chair resigning from his position.
During yesterday’s session of the FSIN legislative assembly, an amendment was added to the resolution as well, calling for a review of the Senate Act.
FSIN Chief Lawrence Joseph says language within that act isn’t always clear.
Joseph says all legislation will be under review, so that something like the Ahenakew affair doesn’t happen again.
