FSIN Less Than Impressed With Northern MP

The chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations says Opposition MPs should think twice before automatically towing the party line.
Alphonse Bird says he noticed which MPs supported last week’s federal budget and which ones didn’t.
The chief says this year’s budget promised many things for First Nations, including $125 million dollars towards child care and significant commitments on housing and life-long learning.
He’s disappointed Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River MP Jeremy Harrison didn’t support those government promises.
Bird feels the Conservative Party lacks a detailed platform on Aboriginal issues and he disapproves of one of its advisors.
Bird says he is relieved, though, that the Liberal budget did pass.
