FSIN Investigating La Ronge RCMP

The La Ronge RCMP is investigating a complaint lodged by a Lac La Ronge Indian Band member against a local officer.

Details are sketchy, but we can tell you that the FSIN’s Special Investigations Unit was in La Ronge last week to investigate the matter.

FSIN spokesman Oliver Williams is satisifed with the RCMP’s handling of the case, so far, and is receiving updates on the investigation.

Williams says he’s been called to investigate complaints against Mounties in La Ronge before, but he says compared to most communities, cases involving the La Ronge RCMP are few and far between.

The La Ronge RCMP is indicating it will be prepared to comment on the matter next week.
