FSIN Financial Picture Showing Marked Improvement

Finances at the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations appear to be on the rebound.

According to the organization’s December financial report, the federation has a surplus of $256,000.

This is in stark contrast to last year’s situation when the FSIN was over $1 million in the red.

Delegates at the FSIN’s winter legislative assembly at the Whitecap Dakota First Nation have been told the FSIN continues to lobby the Brad Wall government to boost its core funding.

The federation currently receives $125,000 from the province.

That figure used to be $2 million until it was cancelled by the Devine government.
