FSIN Election Nomination Deadline Passes

Today is the deadline for nominations for two vice-chief positions at the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations.

On October 23rd, elections will take place for the 2nd and 4th vice-chief offices.

Nomination forms were supposed to be handed in by noon today.

One name that won’t be returning to the electoral race is Guy Lonechild.

The sitting 2nd vice-chief says he has his eye on a bigger prize next fall — the position of FSIN chief.

Lonechild adds he’s proud of the work he’s done up to this point particularly the $104-million federal commitment toward children and families.
