FSIN Election Candidates Finalized

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations has released the list of candidates running in next month’s FSIN elections.

 

Incumbent chief Alphonse Bird is being challenged by vice-chiefs Lawrence Joseph and Delbert Wapass.

 

Meanwhile, another incumbent vice-chief, Morley Watson, is up against Poundmaker band member Eric Tootoosis and Larry Oakes of Nekaneet.

 

The race for the Office of Third Vice-Chief features two former vice-chiefs. Ahtahkakoop’s Larry Ahenakew and Pasqua’s Lindsay Cyr have put their hat in the ring, as has Glen Pratt of the Gordon First Nation.

 

There is a logjam of candidates running for the Office of Fourth Vice-Chief. They include Fond du lac’s Alan Adam, Lyle Daniels of Kawacatoose, George Morin of Peter Ballantyne, Ted Quewezance of Keeseekoose, Daryl Watson of Mistawasis and Big River’s Lyle Whitefish.
