The chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations says he’s looking forward to a national Aboriginal business and economic development symposium next week.

The three-day event, entitled “Excellence in Action”, will draw First Nations, Metis and Inuit leaders and business delegates to Saskatoon for a series of workshops and presentations on success stories and best practices.

Joseph says he hopes the provincial government pays close attention to the developments and opportunities that come out of the conference.

He says, too often, government officials talk about partnerships without truly listening to the group they’re dealing with.

The event is being co-hosted by the provincial government.

Meanwhile, Joseph says it looks like Indian Affairs Minister Jim Prentice will not be able to attend the conference.
