Yesterday’s PAGC assembly was one of the few chances delegates from isolated communities in the Far North have had to hear from the candidates hoping to become chief of the FSIN.

PAGC Athabasca Vice Chief Don Deronger says it’s important that whoever is elected finds the time to occasionally visit the residents of the region to see the issues they face first-hand.

Deronger says the construction of all-weather roads is the most important concern to many in his region, but resource sharing isn’t far behind.

Deronger adds resource dollars that stay in the area benefit everyone in the province, as weakened regions tend to eventually negatively affect all provincial residents
