A team made up entirely of First Nations ball players has won the provincial Midget “A” boys fastball championship.

Team FSIN won the title by beating the Saskatoon Blue Selects 8-7 in yesterday’s final in Prince Albert.

The FSIN was down 5-0 at one point, but clawed its way back and eventually won the game with three runs in the bottom of the final inning.

This is the same team that just won gold at the North American Indigenous Games in Denver.

Team manager Morley Watson says the team is very excited that they were able to enter a competition like this one and emerge as provincial champions.

Team FSIN will represent Saskatchewan at the national championship next month, which will also take place in Prince Albert.
