A member of the Red Pheasant First Nation has been hospitalized following a beating early yesterday morning.

At approximately 4 am, RCMP responded to a call from EMS workers of a assault on the Red Pheasant reserve.

A 46-year-old man was found outside a residence needing immediate medical attention.

RCMP say the victim was severely assaulted.

He was taken to a Saskatoon hospital with unspecified injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Because of the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the victim, the Saskatoon RCMP Major Crimes Unit is assisting in the investigation.
