Four teen boys facing second degree murder charges appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court this morning in hand cuffs and leg shackles.

The four boys, ranging in age from 13 to 15, are charged in connection to the death of 15 year old Johnny Abel Venne, whose lifeless body was found floating in the Montreal River near a Lac La Ronge reserve on Tuesday.

The four boys, who cannot be named because of their ages, went through lengthy legal processes this morning and will be held in custody at a youth remand facility in Prince Albert until they can find and meet with proper legal representation.

The matters were adjourned until then and all four boys will appear in court next week for their bail hearings. Two youth will appear on Thursday and will also speak to previous charges against them. The remaining two will go before a judge on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

The Crown Prosecutor also made an application to the judge to have all four sentenced as adults if found guilty following their trials.
