The RCMP say the discovery of the body of a woman from the Onion Lake First Nation near Lloydminister earlier this week is considered suspicious.

The Mounties say an autopsy performed on the body of 48-year-old Jeanette Chief yesterday in Saskatoon suggests foul play was involved in her death.

Chief’s body was found Wednesday morning in a slough about 16 kilometres north of Lloydminster.

RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation.

Chief was last seen in the city of Lloydminster on Saturday afternoon. Anyone who had contact with her or saw her on or after that day is asked to contact police to help in determining her activities and movements leading up to her death.

If anyone has information concerning this case, they are asked to contact the RCMP’s Lloydminster Municipal Detachment at (306) 825-6350 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
